DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BAGGAGE UNATTENDED

Do Not Leave Your Baggage Unattended is a site-specific, devised performance work that is boundary blurring exploration of some of the experiences of African nationals who gravitate, migrate, re-locate and escape to South Africa’s urban centres, through poetic interpretations of a series of poetic definitions called ‘Afroisms’. The work is created through the Joubert Park Project’s Drill Hall Residency programme. The production takes the form of theatre performance, visual art exhibition and public happening in the courtyard and gallery space of the Drill Hall precinct. The Residency and Exhibition programme is enabled through the generous support of Pro Helvetia and the Swiss Development Corporation.
